At Summer Game Fest 2025, Fangamer announced an official release date for the highly anticipated OFF remaster.
OFF is a Japanese-inspired RPG that initially launched in 2008 and follows a baseball batter chasing ghosts in a cubic, strange world. As explained by the game’s creator, Mortis Ghost, at Summer Game Fest 2025, he created the game to make something funny for his friends, but it went on to become a cult classic.
This includes inspiring Toby Fox to create Undertale, which is widely regarded as one of the best RPGs of all time. Mortis teamed up with Fangamer to remaster OFF and bring it to modern platforms.

OFF officially launches on Nintendo Switch and Steam on August 15. The prologue is currently available to play on Steam.
During the Day of the Devs live stream, Fox had a message for the Fangamer team.
“OFF was a big inspiration to me and Undertale, and I hope you will take this chance to play it either for the first time or the 100th time,” Fox said.
Mortis Ghost created six new bosses for the remaster. Additionally, there is a new soundtrack and revamped combat.
