Arc Raiders Players Think They Found A Release Date

Arc Raiders could just be a couple of weeks from returning for players either in the form of another playtest or a more permanent release date.

A Steam update, which was seemingly only available for a handful of minutes, allowed players to fine an *.exe file. Within that file was a Base64 string that linked to a countdown. That countdown leads to June 6 at 5pm ET/2pm PT. As others have pointed out, that just so happens to be the start time of the Summer Game Fest event in Los Angeles.

Arc Raiders, which comes from the same studio that developer The Finals, held a playtest at the beginning of May. According to the game’s publisher Nexon, the game “significantly exceeded our expectations for key metrics, including wishlisting on Steam.”

Since the playtest wrapped on May 5, there’s been no update on when players will be able to get their hands on the game next. If the countdown is accurate, however, it could only be a matter of time for that news to drop.

Do you think Arc Raiders will launch, or at least have a launch date announced, during Summer Game Fest on June 6? Let us know down below, and join the discussion in the official Insider Gaming forums.
