Mario Party—like Mario Kart—is a game known to tear friendships apart. While Mario Kart has items like the Blue Shell to wreck havoc, Mario Party is a lot worse in its ways, so says WWE superstar Cody Rhodes.
While appearing at the opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida, Rhodes talked about his feelings on the Mario Party series. Specifically, the fact that you can be terrible at the game or just be more friendly and somehow win at the end.
“Mario Party’s a complete work,” Rhodes said. “You do everything strategy-wise and at the end they’re like, ‘Ehh, we gave this person three stars because they had friends.’ Come on! Come on!”
As far as Mario Kart is concerned, Rhodes feels its a more fair experience for players, including the classic editions.
“N64 Mario Kart still holds up to this day,” he said. “And [it’s] a little bit more fair than modern Mario Kart where I feel you can just drop that blue shell and your lack of skill is rewarded often.”
