Elden Ring Movie Finally Confirmed by Bandai Namco

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring catapulted the Souls genre into mainstream gaming media. Now, Bandai Namco and A24 are hoping an Elden Ring movie can capture the thoughts and imaginations of worldwide audiences on the big screen.

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s partnership continues to grow and flourish. The two have teamed up to create Elden Ring Nightreign, but haven’t stopped there. There have been talks for months about bringing Elden Ring into the movie space, and it’s finally happening, and non-gamers get to experience the Lands Between.

Bandai Namco is one of the longest-running and most celebrated game companies ever. A24 is a movie company that distributes and produces many films yearly. It makes sense for the two names to collide and bring Elden Ring to life.

The official news came courtesy of a Bandai Namco X post: “We’re thrilled to announce that Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and A24 are teaming up with writer and director Alex Garland to bring FromSoftware Inc.’s world-renowned video game ELDEN RING to life as a live-action film. We’re truly excited to bring the world of ELDEN RING to fans in a new form, outside the game. Stay tuned. The path ahead is only beginning.”

For now, we know the movie is happening. We don’t know who’s in it, when it’s coming out, or anything. But we’ve got time, and Elden Ring Nightreign will keep us going until then.

What do you hope makes the cut in an Elden Ring movie? Is it possible to translate the game’s journey into a movie adaptation? Please let us know your thoughts through the Insider Gaming forum.

There’s even more gaming movie crossovers happening. The Gears of War movie looks to be in production, and even Ubisoft’s Riders Republic wants a piece of the action.
