Strategems allow you to call in supplies and decimate enemies with literal crowd-clearing bombs. They cost time and resources to utilize, but an infinite stratagem glitch has allowed Helldivers 2 players to get away with murder—literally.
Despite its PlayStation account controversy, Helldivers 2 is still smashing player count numbers on a monthly basis. Arrowhead’s CEO says the bug-hunting, mech-killing shooter attracts over 2.5 million players weekly.
The game hasn’t been safe from glitches, though. We’ve seen the emote glitch and the infinite drop-in bug. More recently, an infinite Stratagem glitch has been the talk of the town.
Can You do The Infinite Stratagem Glitch in Helldivers 2?

The infinite Stratagem glitch has been patched in Helldivers 2, meaning you can no longer spawn an infinite number of Strategems to decimate the battlefield and potentially break the game.
It’s always a shame when fun is patched out. However, in this case, it was probably the right decision. Helldivers 2 players were able to drop countless Stratagems into the map, potentially freezing and ending the game in the process.
It may sound fun on paper, but it’s problematic for Helldivers 2 and its servers. Needless to say, Arrowhead, while instigators of entertainment, were probably right to patch this out. Don’t boo me!
When Was The Infinite Stratagem Glitch Fixed?
Helldivers 2’s infinite Stratagem glitch was patched out on May 16 through a quick update.
A Discord post on May 16 alluded to a Helldivers 2 hotfix—”EMERGENCY HOTFIX 01.003.001.”
The small update had one improvement to the game and a crucial one at that: “Fix for the Stratagem spamming bug that caused severe crashing.”
Obviously, the team saw this as a huge issue, and it became the number one priority to get it out of the game quicker than a hiccup. It’s unlikely that it will return, but we’ll let you know if it does, so you can cause unbridled chaos in Helldivers 2 once more.
If you’re a Helldivers 2 player, were you disappointed to see the glitch fixed? Or should Arrowhead have left it in for novelty’s sake? Let us know with a comment below, and be sure to check out and leave your thoughts in the Insider Gaming forum.
