AC Odyssey has beaten Assassin’s Creed Shadows 24-hour player peak on Steam at the time of writing.
Another Assassin’s Creed Game Tops Shadows in Daily Player Count
Spotted by The Gamer, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has a higher 24-hour player peak on Steam than the latest entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game had a solid start, gaining massive popularity due to its setting and characters when it launched. However, its daily player count seems to be dwindling, with Shadows peaking at 5,131 players in the past 24 hours, and Odyssey bringing in 6,137 during the same time.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey offers more content to play than AC Shadows, with several DLC being released over time. AC Shadows, on the other hand, has just revealed their year 1 roadmap, offering content, gameplay updates and more over the course of 2025. The Claws of Awaji expansion is also expected to arrive later this year, which might help bring the player numbers up again.
Moreover, several other Assassin’s Creed games bring over 1,000 players daily on Steam. AC Valhalla, the one between Odyssey and Shadows, had a 24-hour peak of 2,272 players. Next is AC Origins, which had a 24-hour player peak of 2,215. The last two are AC Unity and Black Flag, with 1,374 and 1,037 player peaks, respectively.
