Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist finally has Steam Achievements thanks to a new update from Ubisoft.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist Steam Achievements
Ubisoft posted a new announcement (via IGN) for Splinter Cell: Blacklist on Steam yesterday, revealing that achievements are now available for the platform. The developers also confirmed that “achievements will be retroactively earned for the accomplishments already completed in your game”. However, for the achievements to sync with your game, players must launch the title once.
Once players launch the Splinter Cell: Blacklist after the new update, all the Ubisoft Connect achievements will be synced and automatically unlocked on the platform. The developers have also removed 19 achievements from the list as they required online services to be unlocked. This move will allow players to unlock 100% of the Steam Achievements for the game.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist was released in 2013, putting Sam back in his tactical suit and goggles to take down the Blacklist. The game introduces new additions to the franchise’s stealth-based gameplay, placing a greater emphasis on players’ personal choices. Tools such as Snake Cam and Micro: Trirotor Drone have been upgraded, and fan favourites like the Sticky Shocker and Karambit knife make a return too.
The title also introduces a new Echeleon unit, with Anna “Grim” Grimsdottir, Isaac Briggs and Charlie Cole joining he fray. We also get to see the Strategic Mission Interface in action, which players can use to customise and upgrade Sam, as well as the Paladin. Lastly, Splinter Cell: Blacklist saw the return of Spies vs Mercs which is “a new take on asymmetrical gameplay” where players will be able to battle in teams of 4.
In other news, Ubisoft has been accused of ‘secret data collection’ in single-player games. Additionally, offline mode testing for The Crew 2 begins next week. What are your thoughts on Splinter Cell: Blacklist receiving Steam Achievements? Let us know in the comments or on our new community forum!

Where’s the remake? The need to remake the first 1, Pandora Tomorrow, Double Agent, and Chaos Theory. Microsoft should buy it and have Virtuos remake it and the Prince Of Persia games also Beyond Good And Evil.
