A subtle nod to Skyrim has been found in Oblivion Remastered’s realm of Cyrodiil. It’s quite easy to miss this tiny detail—which is ironic as the Easter Egg is huge—but nothing can escape the on-the-ball Elder Scrolls community.
The Oblivion Remastered rumors, leaks, and release have given us a distraction from Skyrim. It’s been a running joke for years that Bethesda has milked the game more than a herd of cows. Respite from the fifth mainline Elder Scrolls title arrived on April 22.
We were escaping the sewers again courtesy of Oblivion Remastered. However, it hasn’t taken long for Skyrim to be the game on people’s lips again, but for a different reason.
Skyrim’s Tallest Mountain is Visible in Oblivion Remastered
X user @sackchief alerted Oblivion Remastered players to the presence of The Throat of the World. This is the name given to Skyrim’s tallest mountain, and it’s where the greybeards reside.
Sackchief showed that if you head to the Wizard’s Tower and climb to the top, you can clearly see the imperious mountain from a distance.

This isn’t in the OG Oblivion release—making this one of many new additions. Virtuos has put a lot of work into the game, and it seems to be paying dividends. But this Easter Egg has given The Elder Scrolls fans an intriguing idea.
“So the worlds are connected? Even if you can’t actually go there that’s a really cool concept, I hope they make a game with all of them someday but like in the future like BOTW maybe,” said X user @Veronikasizzle.
I can’t even fathom how big the game would be or the work required, but it’s a neat idea. More Easter Eggs are probably hidden throughout Oblivion Remastered, and players are sure to have fun finding them while we wait for any bits of news about The Elder Scrolls 6.
