Project 007 from IO Interactive now has a name and a reveal window. In a post on social media, it was announced that 007 First Light will be revealed this week.
“[Earn the number] in 007 First Light, a new game by [IO Interactive],” the post reads. “Mission brief is headed your way soon. Stay tuned for more information.”
PODCAST: Black Panther, More EA Layoffs, and Summer Game Fest
While no other details were given as part of the tease, there is past information to go on as far as what 007 First Light will be. In a 2023 interview, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abran said that the game is the “ultimate spycraft fantasy”. The game will be a third-person action game with an original James Bond who isn’t based on any prior movies or actors.
It’s also expected to be a more “scripted experience” than IO Interactive’s Hitman games.
With Summer Game Fest taking place on Friday, it seems as though that could be when the reveal of the game will take place. Insider Gaming will be in Los Angeles for full coverage of the event, and will bring any and all news surrounding 007 First Light and all of the major announcements from the weekend.
