XBOX is seemingly suffering from major outages to numerous aspects of the online services, with players reporting the inability to sign-in to their accounts and start some downloaded games.
XBOX has acknowledged the issue and is currently working on a fix, though as of the time of writing, the services have been struggling for at least eight hours, with no fix in sight. It’s currently unclear what’s caused the outages.
XBOX Working To Fix Major Outages
The official XBOX Status page is showing the “major outage” status for the following services:
- Account & Profile
- Store & Subscriptions
- Games & Gaming
- Apps & Mobile
Due to these outages, it’s likely that you’ll not be able to sign-in to your XBOX profile, the Store might be missing some titles, and a host of downloaded games might struggle to start. The issue has since been identified, and the team are currently working on a fix. When that could arrive remains to be seen.
The official XBOX Support X account has shared this update to users:
We are aware that some users are encountering errors when attempting to sign in, see your game library, or launch games. Our engineers are actively working to mitigate the issue.
Of course, this follows what was a turbulent week for Sony, with the PlayStation servers being down for numerous hours last Friday. With the digital vs physical debate at its peak, these outages paint a sorry picture for an all-digital future.
