Microsoft finally gave XBOX Achievement hunters what they’ve been asking for by announcing the Mythic Achievement. It’s the company’s response to Platinum Trophies and will make achievements even more fun and satisfying.
Despite achievements coming along first, Sony one-upped XBOX and Microsoft with the Platinum Trophy—a separate trophy designed to recognize your hard work and commitment to getting every other trophy. It was a terrific idea then, and still is now.
For some reason, XBOX decided against its own equivalent for nearly 20 years. The Mythic Achievement brings this startling oversight to an end, and we’ve got extensive Mythic Achievement details.
When is Mythic Achievement Releasing For XBOX?
‘Before the end of September’ was touted as the release window for Mythic Achievements, but this has not been confirmed.
It seems apt that True Achievements has been able to allegedly get the scoop on Mythic Achievements and some key details. One thing they heard from sources was: ‘We speculate that Mythic achievements will roll out to players (likely Insiders) before the end of September.’

Right now, it’s September 29, with only one day left, and there’s not even been so much as a new rumor or leak to say when the new reward is coming. Stay tuned for future updates.
How Do I Get XBOX Mythic Achievements?
A Mythic Achievement is awarded when you obtain all the available Gamerscore in an XBOX game.
Let’s say a game has ‘X’ amount of XBOX Achievements; you will get the Mythic Achievement once you’ve earned them all and obtained every bit of Gamerscore in the base list (more on this later). Earning the final achievement you don’t have will reward you with the Mythic Achievement for your collection.
Do I Need to Complete DLC Achievements to Get XBOX Mythic Achievement?
No, DLC achievements do not count toward the main achievement list for an XBOX game, and aren’t required to get a Mythic Achievement.
Just like PS Trophies, DLC are separate lists operating independently of the primary list. Getting DLC achievements will boost your overall score, and you can earn 100% completion for a DLC list, but it doesn’t contribute to the Mythic Achievement and doesn’t give you a separate Mythic Achievement.
What Does Mythic Achievement Look Like?
The Mythic Achievement unlock animation is a crisp and fairly lengthy pop-up animation, featuring sparkly animations and sound effects, and acknowledgement of the achievements you’ve unlocked for a particular game.

Will I Get Mythic Achievements For Earning All Gamerscore on Older Games?
Yes, Mythic Achievements will retroactively unlock for any games where you’ve achieved full Gamerscore.
It’s unclear if you’ll have to sit through the animation for EVERY game you’ve achieved full Gamerscore. If you do, and you’ve done this a lot, I’d seriously consider getting a drink and a snack ready, as XBOX takes you on a long, congratulatory journey!
