The launch of XBOX’s Platinum-like equivalent for Achievements is edging ever closer, with a new update to the PC app revealing the unlock sound and symbol.
Earlier this month, we reported on claims that the ‘Mythic’ name for the feature was revealed, and it now appears to be fully locked in ahead of launch.
Mythic Achievement Sound & Symbol Revealed
As posted by Klobrille on X, an update for the PC app has led to the discovery of the unlock sound for the XBOX Mythic Achievement, and the symbol that will serve as the badge of honor.
The sound shown is a lengthy one, clocking in at a total of 16 seconds of audio, though that’s to be expected considering the significance of unlocking a Mythic Achievement.
Mythic Achievements are set to mimic the Platinum PlayStation Trophies, awarded for earning all other Achievements on a set game, making them the ideal target for completionists to track down.
Full details of the feature are yet to be revealed by XBOX, though Asha Sharma confirmed earlier this year that the addition was set to be made.
It’s not clear yet whether the addition of Mythic Achievements will retrospectively apply to all previously released titles, or whether each developer will have to update their games.
The news comes off the back of a period of changes for XBOX, which includes the shuttering of studios and moving Halo development to Activision.
