Now, Sharma is expanding on what those plans include.
Asha Sharma Discusses Plans to Refocus on Xbox Series X|S Consoles
During an interview with Stephen Totilo of Game File, Asha Sharma explained that a team has been created to invest in console features. They want to ensure that players who choose to play on the Xbox Series family of consoles still have a top-tier experience.
“We have formed a team [and] we’re investing in console features,” Sharma said. “We are standing up the muscle to make sure that all of our performance and reliability and quality is great. We are investing in it as a first-class experience again, and we want to make sure that all the players who want to be on Gen 9 are on Gen 9 with a great console with regular updates.”
Other pillars of the refocused Xbox brand include strengthening the Game Pass subscription service on a sustainable economic model. Learn more about that at this link.
Xbox is also planning to reevaluate its approach to console exclusives. However, they’re not entirely ready to reveal plans just yet. Learn more about those discussions here.
Insider Gaming will continue to monitor all things Xbox and report any updates as the company continues its major restructuring in 2026.
