Wildcard has small mushroom creatures scuttling along the ground, blue frogs hopping around without a lily pad, and hulking demons that look like they’ve been lifted straight out of DOOM. So let’s explain what Wildcard offers.
The action looks pretty intimidating at first glance. As with everything, Wildcard becomes easier and less complicated with more understanding. Champions and companions will quickly become second nature, allowing you to find your strongest allies and change the dynamic of a match quicker than a Pocus.
So let’s quickly guide you through the unique multiplayer-action title.
What Type of Game is Wildcard?

Wildcard is a 2v2, PvP, Card-Collecting Multiplayer title. You must choose from a large array of ‘Champions’ and create a balanced yet powerful team to overthrow your opponent’s.
The official Wildcard website has this to say: “Champions from across the galaxy assemble decks of collectible cards, summoning unique companion creatures and harnessing their strengths in dramatic clashes at arenas throughout the universe.”
How to Play Wildcard
You choose a Champion, with each one possessing different attributes, then you must select different cards to bolster your team with summons and fantastical creatures, before venturing into a competitive PvP environment—typically in 2v2 matches.
As with any online multiplayer Hero title, the type of Champion you opt for will influence your playstyle. Champions have five main attributes you need to factor in:
- Defense
- Damage
- Mobility
- Healing
- Utility
If you opt for a Champion with defense and damage, expect them to be slow and favor strong combat, for example. It’s your typical convention for multiplayer titles, likewise your summons. Each one has certain strengths and weaknesses that will ultimately affect how the overall team plays.
How to Win Wildcard
You need to keep taking out the opponent’s Goalie to access the enemy team’s Shield, and once you break this, you win the game.
Think of winning a game of Wildcard like a mini battle of attrition in a tower defense title. You need to overcome the enemy’s defensive forces, breach the line, and in this case, destroy the Shield to claim victory.
Goalie’s aren’t gone for good though, so bear this in mind. They can respawn, and instantly wipe out your summons. Fortunately, if they do come back, they have greatly reduced health—making them easier to eliminate.
