The next Virtua Fighter game has been officially revealed, and it’s a large open-world experience.
During Summer Games Fest 2026, Virtua Fighter Crossroads was announced and showed off its open-world concept in a massive trailer.
Cielo was featured prominently in the trailer, showcasing single-player gameplay that looked much more like Yakuza than a traditional Virtua Fighter. The game will release in 2027, but a full release date was not shown. The last mainline Virtua Fighter game was released initially in 2006. Two decades later, the world has expanded greatly.
More details will be shown at an official showcase for the game later this evening at 8:00 p.m. ET.
