Sentinels Sign Victor as VCT Americas Stand-in

After weeks of speculation around the return of Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo or Tarik ‘tarik’ Celik to competitive Valorant action, Sentinels have confirmed that Victor ‘Victor’ Wong will be their substitute for VCT Americas Stage 1.

The Masters Reykjavík 2022 winner returns to Tier 1 competitive action with Sentinels as a stand-in following a 2025 season in Tier 2

Visa issues prevent Jerrwin from taking place in roster

Victor is acting as an emergency substitute due to Gurjiwan ‘Jerrwin’ Gill’s Visa issues. The Canadian was only confirmed as Sentinels’ fifth on March 24 from VCL NA’s SaD Esports, with the org confirming a contract until 2028.

However, the Canadian has been unable to secure the required documentation to compete in VCT Americas, which is based at Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, United States.

Therefore, Victor will be competing for as long as is necessary in VCT Americas Stage 1 as Sentinels look to rebuild after a steep decline, which has seen them go from Valorant’s most iconic roster to competitively impotent.

The roster finished 9th-10th in the VCT 2026 Americas Kickoff, languishing in their 0-2 elimination to Leviatán.

Roster changes followed with Mirel ‘Braco ‘Kyu’ Hrustemovic and Marshall ‘N4RRATE’ Massey leaving the roster, and Jonah ‘JonahP’ Pulice and Jerrwin joining, but yet to debut.

What can Sentinels fans expect from Victor?

Victor will be hoping to contribute as an entry and flex. The American was one of the first players to specialize on Neon, an agent who has since become meta at ther pro level, potentially giving him an edge on the server.

Victory should act as a relatively selfless substitute, which may be useful to Sen’s current composition, which has players who would rather survive later into the round, allowing them to trade Victor’s spacetaking and progressing the round.

Spacetaking is, after all, how Victor made his name as a player, at Envy, then in the legendary OpTic roster that won Valorant Masters Reykjavik.

While Victor’s time at NRG did not end well, his individual level was still strong coming out of the project, making this showing an interesting experiment.

Fans will be hoping for a similar resurgence in form that Victor’s former teammate Austin ‘crashies’ Roberts has enjoyed since leaving NRG for Fnatic.
