Uncharted Dev Seemingly Teases New Project for the Franchise

Fans think that we might be getting something new for the Uncharted franchise after the Lost Legacy director’s latest cryptic post.

Around May of last year, Neil Druckmann had revealed that Naughty Dog was working on another game apart from their upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. However, Druckmann had also stated that he is in “more of a producer role” for this one. Now, fans think this other game could be a new title in the Uncharted series.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Director Posts Cryptic Image

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy’s director, Shaun Escayg, recently shared an intriguing image on Instagram, sparking speculation among franchise fans. The image depicts a cannon overlooking a beachfront city from a cliff, accompanied by the caption “Research…”. Given the location in the image, fans in the comments have begun speculating that Escayg may be researching a potential new setting for an upcoming Uncharted title. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

It has been a very long time since the community received a new Uncharted game. The last title was indeed Uncharted: Lost Legacy, released in 2017. The last mainline title, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, was released almost a decade ago now. Since then, we have received PS5 and PC remasters for both titles through the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection; however, fans are now yearning for a new experience in the franchise.

In other news, The Last of Us Online was canceled a day before the public announcement, after the director spent 7 years on it. Additionally, Neil Druckmann recently alluded to a little more in the pipeline for The Last of Us. What are your thoughts on the Uncharted developer seemingly teasing a new title? • That game was trash also no one wanted another. Sony makes this but cancels Jak remakes, Ico remake, Legend Of Dragoon, basically Bluepoint, and lies about bringing back classics. How can people support it? Live-service Uncharted on the way.

  • If a new Uncharted game is in development, it will likely be a reboot starring a young Nathan Drake.

It’s difficult to craft a new story as a direct continuation of UC4. Besides, no other character can truly replace Nathan. Since the movie adaptation was a huge box office success, it would be a rational decision to reboot the series with a younger Nathan, aligning with the film.
