Riot Games has confirmed that League of Legends Classic is “very likely” to receive other game modes in the future.
The new game, releasing July 29, will bring back a mixture of older versions of LoL from Season 3 and further back.
Riot has already confirmed a League Classic-inspired mode called ARAM Mayhem Classic-ish.
And now it appears that old modes like Dominion and Twisted Treeline could finally be making a comeback.
League Classic Director Hints at Twisted Treeline and Dominion
League Classic game director Brian ‘FeralPony’ Feeney has regularly been answering questions on Twitter.
And when one user asked about the possibility of Twisted Treeline and Dominion specificially returning with Classic, FeralPony said:
“We don’t have any non Summoners Rift modes currently, but it’s highly likely we’ll bring in additional modes over time.”

This is in line with that Riot has already stated that they intend to regularly update League Classic.
That includes a faster release of new champions in LoL Classic with a lot of potential options still missing from the game’s 60-champion roster at launch.
Dominion, a capture-the-flag style mode on a circular map called Crystal Scar, has been gone for 10 years now after Riot removed it in 2016.
There was also a Shurima-based version of the mode called Ascension which released in 2014.
Meanwhile, then Twisted Treeline, a 3v3 mode played on a two lane map with a giant spider boss named Vilemaw.
The previously permanent gamemode was retired back in 2019 at the end of Season 9 due to its low play rate.
