Toby Fox shares new details on Deltarune Chapters 6 and 7, including Chapter 6’s shorter length and a hopeful 2027 release.
Deltarune is the smash success follow-up to the previous success, Undertale. The game’s fifth chapter was recently released. Now, about a month later, series creator Toby Fox is ready to share another update with players.

Deltarune Chapters 6 and 7 Will Deliver Major Story Payoffs
Toby Fox says the setup is complete and Deltarune Chapters 6 and 7 will begin delivering the story’s biggest revelations. In a previous update, Fox stated that the game’s next chapters should be finished more quickly than the previous ones. Indeed, players had to wait several years for chapters 3 and 4 of the game.
Now, the latest update says that much of the story’s setup is complete, and the next two chapters will be filled with revelations, with Chapter 6 expected sometime in 2027.
With Chapter 5, we completed the last of the necessary setup for Chapter 6 and 7. From Chapter 6 onward, there are no more wacky silly adventures, and you will begin to see the results of the setup that has been made so far.
Chapter 6 is a shorter, straightforward chapter that focuses on one aspect of the story. Because of that, many things are still not touched on here – in fact, it may surprise you what was missing! But one thing will be clarified, whether you’re ready or not.
Some of you may say “Wait! You need to make the chapters longer, not shorter!” That’s an extremely reasonable concern, but… by the end of Chapter 7 I’m 100% sure you’ll understand why I feel confident about the way I’m telling this story. Don’t worry about the pacing until it’s over!
I believe we will be able to release Chapter 6 in 2027.
Additionally, Fox makes it clear that Deltarune Chapter 6 will be released on its own. He also notes that most of what remains to be done includes the Chapter 6 boss fight and polishing the cutscenes.
