Since the heartwarming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake reveal, we’ve all been left wondering questions: When is it coming out? How much will it cost? Plus, will the game resemble or play like the award-winning game that came out in 1998?
We recently learned about the Nintendo listing revealing new details about the Ocarina of Time Remake. It gave us a brief into what we could expect from the new game, but Nintendo has possibly realised there was a draft.
In a swift move, Nintendo has now changed the game’s official Nintendo Switch 2 description in light of the details becoming known.
Nintendo Decision Hints at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Changes

As discovered by IGN, here’s what the original Switch description said about the game:
‘The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.’
Now, this is what it has been replaced by:
‘The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2!’
These are two VERY different descriptions.
The original description suggests the Ocarina of Time Remake will be much closer to the actual game, with few (if any) major gameplay or story changes. Either the description was misleading, or Nintendo is being ultra-secretive and doesn’t want anything about OOT being known right now.
We’ll keep you updated on the latest The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake changes. It will be fascinating to see how much Nintendo opts to change one of the most iconic and famous video games of all time.
It’s time for your dream OOT wishlist: Which parts of the game are you hoping are changed or reworked? More importantly, what about the game needs to stay EXACTLY as is? Is there anything Nintendo could do that would stop you from buying it? Let us know via the Insider Gaming Discord.
