FromSoftware has announced that its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, has been delayed to 2027. The announcement came via social media Thursday morning.
In their post, FromSoftware said that the game was at “the final adjustment stage”, however, a decision was made to push its release to next year.
The Duskbloods delayed to enhance the game
After apologizing to fans for the game’s delay, FromSoftware gave insight into why it happened in the first place.
The studio says that during its network test in August, they saw an “active interest in the core concepts of the game.” This included combat, player expression, and strategic depth.
After the network test, the decision was made to “further enhance” those aspects of the game. Because of that, the decision was made to move the game’s release to give the developers added time for “final adjustments to game rules and balancing.”
And while it’s been pushed to 2027, there was no firm release date given for The Duskbloods.
Fans expected the delay
Even before the delay was announced, fans on social media were starting to expect it. As pointed out by Kotaku, many on Reddit were questioning the silence surrounding the game since the network test. With 2026 only having two months left, there was the feeling a delay was inevitable, with some throwing out theories like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake taking the focus.
Though there was, which was ultimately accurate, a feeling that the network test led to some additional work for the developers to finish.

Yeah not too surprised the lack of trailers and updates. From Software needs to work with better creatives after this they never should have worked with Martin they should instead work with Hideyuki Kikuchi, Yoshiki Tanaka, and Keita Amemiya on projects and adapt Guin Saga as a project too. Nintendo can fund those too.
