Battlestate Games has updated Escape from Tarkov with a new limited-time event that’s geared towards encouraging players to fight one another in the Kord Breach seasonal mode. This new way to play Escape from Tarkov was introduced a few weeks ago, with Battlestate Games adding a traditional, season-based operating model complete with a battle pass.
The latest event, which comes after a Lighthouse-based event ran for a few days, heavily boosts XP rewards tied to killing players and Scav characters in this popular extraction shooter.
Tarkov XP Boost Focuses on Killing
Battlestate Games revealed in a social media post that XP rates have been buffed for kills and certain actions associated with those kills:
An in-game event has started in the seasonal Escape from Tarkov mode, significantly increasing the amount of XP gained for PvP activity:
- 600 XP instead of 120 for eliminating a PMC
- 110 XP instead of 55 for eliminating a Scav, including player Scavs
- 200 XP instead of 20 for picking up a PMC dogtag.
The increased XP rates will remain active until October 5, 10:00 AM BST, 5:00 AM EDT.
It’s not much of an event, admittedly. Most recently, the team at Battlestate Games released an overhaul for the Lighthouse map, which proved to be a success. They put together some new quests, fresh points of interest, and relocated some of the map’s tougher enemies, and then, for the event, they added a powerful boss character to the map and boosted the rate of aridrops in the game.

There is a layover from that event, though. Battlestate confirmed that operational (or ‘daily’) tasks will continue to reward players with battle pass documents, which has proven to be a positive and genuinely helpful change.
