Pre-order numbers for Grand Theft Auto 6 have been “exceptional,” Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two has revealed, and the series as a whole continues to exceed expectations.
GTA 6 is arguably the most anticipated game of all time, with all eyes cast firmly towards the November 19 release date, and the early sales numbers are already making waves.
GTA 6 Pre-Orders ‘Exceptional’
In a financial statement on Friday covering the financial results from Q1 of the 2027 financial year, Take-Two stated that “global excitement for the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to build, with the title having an exceptional start to preorders.”
Specifics on the number of pre-orders placed so far and the revenue generated from them has nmot been detailed, though they are expected to be significxant numbers.
GTA 6 will be a major driving force for the 2027 financial year, and beyond, for Take-Two, which predicts net bookings for the year of $8bn will represent a 20% growth compared to the previous year, with Rockstar set to make up around 37% of that revenue breakdown.
Pre-order numbers for GTA 6 will continue to rise as the launch window edges closer, and the recently revealed extended look of the title, which is set to be Netflix exclusive for a six-hour period later this month, could lead to another surge.
After the initial surge of launch, GTA 6 will continue to be a key revenue driver for Take-Two, with major milestones likely to include a PC launch further down the line, and additional microtransactions.
Nothing has been revealed about GTA 6 multiplayer so far, but it’s widely expected to have currency available for purchase, like Shark Cards in GTA 5.
