Huge Pokémon TCG Pocket User Drop Revealed in Financial Report

A massive drop in the daily number of users in Pokémon TCG Pocket has been revealed in DeNA’s Q1 financial results, with the company experiencing a significantr decrease in revenue and profit.

Pokémon TCG Pocket was initially released in October 2024 and has experienced many major updates since then, with monthly releases of new sets, but the popularity of the title has begun to wane.

DeNA Announces Revenue & Profit Decreases Due to Pokémon TCG Pocket Dropoff

Revealed in DeNA’s financial results for Q1 2026, and shared on social media by UniteVids, the company behind Pokémon TCG Pocket has seen both revenue and profit decrease significantly.

The main reason for this is due to changes in the number of daily users in Pokémon TCG Pocket, which had an average of 39 million a day in the same quarter last year, but has dropped to 23 million in Q1 2026.

While the drop of 16 million daily players on average is a significant one, it’s not a surprise to see such a fall-off, particularly when compared to the same period last year, which came much closer to the game’s launch.

As a result, the company is “planning to implement multi-layered measures,” which will include more events and promotions, working towards increasing login frequency, retention rates, and overall user activity.

However, it’s not clear exactly what these changes will be, especially considering Pokémon TCG Pocket continues to see regular special events in the game, alongside the monthly cycle of new sets.

For many, the frequency of the new sets and limited-time events is behind the wane of interest, seen as being too much to keep up-to-date with, as there’s not enough time to complete collections before the next set is introduced.

New features like sharing and trading have assisted in this regard, however, and fans will be keen to see what DeNA has up its sleeve in response to the financial results.
