Second Foldable iPhone Reportedly in Apple’s Future Plans

According to a new Bloomberg report, Apple’s first foldable phone will launch this September. Then, a second-generation version, codenamed “v78,” will launch in 2027. The fact that there’s already a second model in the works shows that Apple is serious about its dive into the foldable market. However, this report also notes that Apple is planning something even more special for 2027: devices that celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone’s release.
The report claims that these anniversary devices will feature a nearly edge-to-edge display, with curved glass that wraps around the sides. These models are code-named “V73” and “V74”. They are planned as successors to the forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models, which will debut later this year.

It’s also noted that those phones and the forthcoming first-generation foldable phone will run on the A20 processor, codenamed “Borneo.” Also, for those who usually get the Baseline iPhone, the standard iPhone 18 model is not planned to release until 2027.
