Escape from Tarkov’s Big ‘Lighthouse’ Update is Coming Tomorrow

Battlestate Games has confirmed that the update containing the ambitious Lighthouse map overhaul is coming tomorrow, September 8. This patch will introduce the most comprehensive change the map has undergone since it was released, with Battlestate directly addressing major pain points that have made the map somewhat hated over the years.

The update will add new points of interest, relocate the Rogues, alter their behavior, and introduce new ways to get around the map. Going forward, Lighthouse should become much more of a staple for Escape from Tarkov‘s many players.

What’s The Lighthouse Update in Tarkov?

Nikita Buyanov posted a simple message on social media confirming that Escape from Tarkov’s huge Lighthouse update is coming tomorrow. Within one day, everything you ever knew about Lighthouse will be forgotten (probably), as the update that Battlestate Games has prepared is substantial.

Firstly, the core makeup of the map is changing. The Water Treatment Plant’s Rogues are being relocated to the chalet area, which has now become a fortified location. To give cover on ‘the long road’, checkpoints have been added to prevent players from being beamed from the mountainous areas that flank the road itself.

Also, PMC spawn points have been adjusted, and more terrain and foliage have been added to ‘cover’ said spawn points, giving players the best chance possible of starting with their best foot forward.

It’s not just a relocation that’s impacting the Rogues on Lighthouse, though. After this update, they’ll no longer discriminate between USEC and BEAR PMCs. Everyone will be fair game, and you’ll be gunned down unceremoniously regardless of which flag you fly.

Additionally, the BTR driver has now found a route into Lighthouse, and he buzzes up and down the main road to and from the Water Treatment Plant, giving you even more ways to traverse the map.

The new points of interest look interesting, too. One is a tunnel system that runs through the mountainside. It’s akin to a bunker, and it’ll undoubtedly hold some deep, dark Escape from Tarkov secrets.
