With the release of Starfield on PlayStation 5 scheduled for April 7, Bethesda has unveiled a new trailer showcasing what PS5 players can expect from the game. Released on April 3, the trailer highlights key features, including adaptive trigger support that enhances weapon resistance using the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller.
Additionally, the controller will alert players to their health status with the light bar around the touchpad. There will also be voice logs from the controller’s speaker.

The trailer also touts upgraded quality and performance modes specifically for the PS5. It’s noted that Starfield on the PS5 offers enhanced visual fidelity in Quality Mode. Also, Performance Mode targets 60 FPS on the platform.
“On PlayStation 5 Pro, you can pick the look and feel that fits your playstyle. Pro Visual Mode delivers a 4K final rendering output targeting 30 FPS for maximum visual fidelity, while Pro Performance Mode targets 60 FPS for a faster, more fluid experience. Both modes are powered by PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) upscaling technology,” says Bethesda.
Speaking of Starfield visuals, the game has recently been used in test runs of NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 technology. Learn more about that here.
Starfield was originally an Xbox exclusive. The game was released on September 6, 2023. Currently, despite Xbox undergoing a rebrand and a supposed shift back to catering to loyal Xbox players, Starfield is among many original Xbox exclusives now being ported to PlayStation.
