Sony State of Play June 2026 Could be ’90 Mins’ And You Can Get Tickets For it

Sony’s State of Play around Summer Game Fest is always a big one, especially with Sony opting out of Summer Game Fest and E3 in recent years. However, all expectations have gone up a notch in light of the runtime and ticket development for the new show that has come to light.

Oh, we do love this time of year. Christmas is Christmas, but this is the Holiday season where gaming is concerned. Many developers and publishers like to save their big surprises and reveals for the Summer Game Fest season. The PlayStation State of Play June 2026 Showcase is one of the signature events happening around it this year, and it might have just gotten bigger.

Could the Sony State of Play June 2026 Be Massive?

I’m always excited for a Sony State of Play, even though sometimes it ends in disappointment, with the weight of expectation proving to be too much.

It might not be the case for the June 2026 edition, as it’s been revealed that ‘Free Fan Event’ setups are taking place across six areas:

  • Chicago
  • Dallas/Fort Worth
  • Los Angeles
  • New York City
  • Raleigh
  • San Francisco Bay Area

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is advertising the following:

‘Sony State of Play hits the big screen for a live theatrical fan event packed with major PlayStation announcements and a fresh look at Marvel’s Wolverine, the action-packed new adventure from Insomniac Games, developed in collaboration with Marvel Games. Expect a room full of fellow fans reacting in real time as new reveals and trailers debut, plus a themed menu of claw-worthy bites and cocktails, as well as exclusive giveaways. Admission is free with a refundable food and non-alcoholic beverage voucher, redeemable at the event. Reserve your spot and start sharpening your Adamantium.’

More importantly, the venue is advertising this as ’90 min,’ but it’s unclear if this means the entire showcase is 90 minutes long, or if it’s maybe an hour, with extra fluff before and after. We’ll have to wait and see on that front.

If it is 90 minutes long, and the show is looking to attract fans and gamers alike to congregate and celebrate an evening of PlayStation announcements and reveals, you’d have to think there’s a big reason (or many) for this.

I’ve already seen social media talking up Santa Monica’s new God of War ‘Universe’ Game with Faye being theorized, along with a shock appearance for GTA 6, to well and truly send everyone home happy.

This is speculation, this is NOT confirmation of anything that will be shown. But if you’re in the area, it might be worth donning your Sony cap for the night.
