Secretlab’s On-Stage Standard is a Much Needed Innovation for Esports Pros, and I’m Using It Right Now

If you’ve been anywhere near the esports world recently, you’ll know how competitive it’s becoming for the players that occupy the space. Every inch of advantage matters in a space that’s becoming oversaturated, and that naturally impacts everything from in-game abilities to how a player arranges themself on stage.

That’s where innovations like Secretlab’s all-new On-Stage Standard (OSS) come into play. I’ve witnessed first-hand the issues that players have making sure their set-up in a LAN environment is accurate to individual millimeters, and the OSS is taking that concept and making it as easy as possible to replicate the perfect way to play games at the highest level on stage.

I’ve been fortunate enough to give one of the first products from this centre of innovation a trial run.

Introducing the On-Stage Standard

The Secretlab On-Stage Standard starts with the InfinitePrecision Armrest. It might not be a thing you’ve ever considered, but in the world of pro gaming, something as simple as an armrest positioned ‘incorrectly’ can be a deal-breaker.

I’ve seen players use tape measures and rulers to achieve the precise position they need on stage during high-stakes esports tournaments, and sometimes, regular armrests just don’t suffice. That’s where the InfinitePrecision Armrest comes into play, and I’ve been trying out this innovation over the last couple of weeks.

Aside from boasting the immense quality of production that you’d expect from Secretlab, the InfinitePrecision Armrest has an innovative electronic measurement mechanism that ensures pro players can find the exact right position for their armrests in seconds, without relying on any other tools or implements.

This feature, combined with an expanded 4D adjustability, means that players have more control over their seating position than ever before. It’s the most versatile armrest I’ve ever used, and it’s fused with Secretlab’s classic CloudSwap technology, ensuring longevity and the utmost comfort.

I’ve enjoyed my time with the InfinitePrecision armrest, and after a while, it becomes a fire-and-forget tool that still serves a phenomenal purpose. It features a smooth adjustment mechanism, unparalleled customisability, and it looks great with a red splash of color, a neat micro LED screen, and some circuitry thrown in for good measure.

One of the things I love most about the InfinitePrecision armrest is that you can adjust is smoothly rather than in forced increments, like most armrests.

Does the On-Stage Standard Really Help Players?

In my experience, esports players will go to immense lengths to replicate the best set-up possible when competing in million-dollar tournaments. The distance they sit from the screen, the angle of their keyboard, how high their desk is, and so on, all come into play when trying to play at the ultimate level.

The On-Stage Standard makes it infinitely easier to adjust armrests quickly and accurately, and it only gets better when paired with other Secretlab innovations. The new Secretlab MAGPAD Desk Mat, for instance, utilises an OSS upgrade in the form of numbered grids, which can help a pro player map out the ideal arrangement for their equipment.

The Secretlab MAGNUS Pro desk is the perfect accompaniment to these new OSS items, boasting the ability to adjust height measurements by as little as 1 mm increments.

In a statement, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, one of the most recognizable esports players in the world, spoke about Secretlab’s new technology:

I’m very particular about how our setups are configured. The Secretlab InfinitePrecision™Armrest is the most precise and adjustable armrest I’ve used. I could feel the difference right away during our training sessions, and look forward to having this rolled out across more tournaments.

Having full control over the exact height and angle of our armrests and setup means I can fully adjust this to account for my specific needs and individual preferences — when I feel the most comfortable, stronger gameplay naturally follows.

Secretlab is now synonymous with the biggest and most valuable esports tournaments in the business. Later this year, at the League of Legends World Championship, the Secretlab InfinitePrecision Armrest will be featured front and centre, utilized by every pro player gracing the stage at the most popular event in the industry.

I can easily see Secretlab’s OSS becoming a de facto measure in the esports industry from now on. If it makes the lives of esports pro players easier and allows them more time and energy to focus on competing, it’s a huge win in my book. I’m very excited to see what Secretlab comes up with next.
