Diaz Biffle, long considered the GOAT of Warzone esports, has announced his retirement from competing. He dropped the revelation ahead of the World Series of Warzone Global Final in Las Vegas and was met with a video featuring farewell messages from the game’s most prolific players and creators.
He hasn’t said what comes next, but many suspect he’s working his way into multiplayer-based competition, potentially eyeing up a spot in the Call of Duty League.
What’s Next for Biffle?
In back-to-back wins, Diaz Biffle claimed World Series of Warzone victories in 2023 and 2024, also securing a win at the Epsorts World Cup in the Warzone category in July 2024. Since June 2024, he has flown the Team Falcons flag, representing one of the fastest-growing esports labels in the business.
He’s one of the most accomplished and recognized players in the Warzone space, and in his farewell montage, many players dubbed him the GOAT:
Announcing his retirement, Biffle said:
Yeah, I think this is probably going to be my last one. Thank you to all the fans supporting me throughout the entire five years of competing, but this is it for me.
Aside from his closing statements, Biffle hasn’t mentioned his retirement on social media or offered any other words aside from a brief GGs to Vision Esports for winning the World Series of Warzone in Las Vegas.
It wasn’t the ending that Biffle was looking for, with Team Falcons ending the tournament in fifth place, sitting on 107.8 points to Vision’s 153. Regardless, Biffle goes out as one of the greats, and fans are now left to wonder what’s next for the superstar player, who has long stated that he can compete just as well against Call of Duty League pro players.
