The gaming space is abuzz with talk of Marvel Rivals’ Season 10 update, which has been dubbed ‘Butcher’s Blasphemy’. Recently, NetEase shared an exciting trailer to showcase the imminent arrival of the new season, which definitively confirmed that Gorr the God Butcher is coming to Marvel Rivals this season.
In fact, he’s the beating, gnarly heart of the season.

Gorr the God Butcher is slated to arrive in Marvel Rivals with the introduction of the Season 10 update, which lands on September 11, 2026. If you’ve been around to see Gorr’s introduction trailer, which NetEase posted on September 8, you’ll have learnt why his arrival is so important.
Gorr becomes instantly embroiled in a battle with Thor, who accuses him of being responsible for Loki’s death. That’s what happens when you tangle with someone named ‘The God Butcher’, I suppose. The end of the trailer wraps with a suggestion that Gorr has managed to subdue Thor himself.

It’s pretty much a dead cert that Gorr will arrive in Marvel Rivals the same day as the Season 10 update, but what do we know about the character?

Well, he’s a Duelist, and he’s the 54th character to make it into Marvel Rivals in a relatively short time. Depending on the fight Gorr finds himself in, he’ll be able to manipulate his sword, All-Black, into different forms. He can dash, teleport, and his ult is centered around a Black Beserker summon.
