In the 1.1.5.0 update in Escape from Tarkov, Battlestate Games made a major amendment to how players get to Icebreaker, the game’s newest map. Before, you needed to part ways with a whopping 400,000 rubles every time you wanted to transition to Icebreaker, and then they increased the cost to 700,000 rubles.
Now, you can board the hovercraft and sail over the ocean to Icebreaker very easily, but it requires something called a Sudak-Tudak. What is a Sudak-Tudak, and where can you find one to open your Icebreaker transition?
Let’s find out.
Sudak-Tudak Method
The easiest way to get a Sudak-Tudak in Escape from Tarkov is to complete the new Pay the Fare quest for Ragman. To unlock this task, you must have progressed far enough through the Boreas story chapter, which unlocks the Icebreaker map, for it to pop.
But how do you complete Pay the Fare?
You find these items:
- 1 Pipe Grip Wrench
- 1 Ratchet Wrench
- 1 Electric Drill
And then you hand them over to Ragman. Fortunately, they’re pretty common items that you can find all over Escape from Tarkov, on basically any map. You’ll want to prioritize searching toolboxes and the locked brown crates that spawn everywhere. It shouldn’t take you long to find these items.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll get 30,000 EXP and up to 10 Sudak-Tudak marine repair kits. It’s 10 if you’re playing PvE, but only five if you’re a PvP player, for some reason.

With the Sudak-Tudak marine repair kit in hand, you can now head to the Icebreaker transit on either Lighthouse (added in 1.1.5.0) or Shoreline. Unfortunately, you cannot list the Sudak-Tudak for sale on the flea, and it can only be placed in a special item slot, so you can’t loot it from other players.
It also weighs a fair bit too – 4.5 kg.
But what about where to find more Sudak-Tudak kits? Well, once you’ve finished Pay the Fare, you’ll unlock a new, special operational task that you can repeat to collect more of the kits.
Let us know on the Insider Gaming Discord server if you’ve used the Sudak-Tudak to get to Icebreaker yet.
