Housemarque doesn’t miss, and the newest edition of State of Play proved why. The action game / bullet-hell game / third-person shooter game looks like one of 2026’s biggest titles, and the new footage is mouthwateringly good.
It’s almost a year to the day since Saros was announced during the February 2025 Sony State of Play. It looked great then, and it’s looking amazing now, with Housemarque cooking up some frantic and feverish bullet-hell action.
More Saros Gameplay Shown During Sony State of Play

The new gameplay shows a more interconnected world, juxtaposing the more isolated world of Returnal. There’s a deep level of progression and upgrades to make subsequent runs different from the last.

From what’s been shown so far, Saros looks like a step above the already well-positioned Returnal. No doubt Arjun Devraj is in for a world of hostilities and hurt, dodging bullets and barrages of fire.

The comparisons to Returnal can’t be ignored, but given how successful Returnal was for PlayStation and Housemarque, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
