Survival Town-Builder ‘Romestead’, developed by Beartwigs and published by Three Friends, will be released into Early Access on May 26. Romestead is described as “an action-adventure survival game that invites players to build and expand their home, alone or with friends, as they seek to rebuild Rome and conquer the legendary foes that inhabit ancient lands.”
The announcement was made during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase on April 9. A week earlier, the game had already secured 250,000 wishlists on Steam.

The game touts resource management mechanics and deep RPG systems. The game supports up to eight players, and each player can choose their own God. Choices will have consequences for buffs and other abilities that are unlocked during playthroughs.
“In Romestead, you will need the artisans from all walks of life in order to craft and progress. Construct decorations around your town to increase your citizens’ happiness. Uncover new recipes from research and exploration. Automate your production lines with more advanced buildings and logistics,” the Steam page notes.
This is the debut game from developer Beartwigs. Three Friends is also publishing another title that is slated for release in 2026 called “Decrepit.”
