It’s time to fill your backpack and load up on rope, as a series of free DLC has been announced for Cairn, with the first piece, On The Trail: Deep Water, arriving this Summer.
The official news comes from the Triple I Initiative 2026, with the gaming showcase’s third iteration featuring 40 games, with eight exclusive world premieres.

‘On The Trail—Deep Water’ Free DLC Arriving Summer 2026
Cairn was released to critical acclaim back in January this year, and now, fans of the survival climber have an excuse to pursue even more daunting peaks, thanks to the upcoming waves of free DLC. The first of the bunch, Deep Water, is set to release this Summer, and it’s filled to the brim with new content.
You’ll be following the trail of a legendary climber as you explore three new climbing areas, each with its own set of challenges to navigate. Additionally, if the heights are a cause for concern, worry not, as you’ll be able to water solo: it’ll be possible to climb over water, thus alleviating the fear of falling to your death!
And for those of you who felt isolated on your hefty climbs, there will be the added bonus of climbing alongside Marco or Aava, making the ascents slightly less lonely.
This marks just the beginning for the free DLC The Game Bakers has planned for Cairn, with more to follow throughout the year. It’s safe to assume there will be even more perilous peaks to scale, so put on your harness and buckle up!
