Riot Games has confirmed that two highly sought after changes to VALORANT, one of which has been in demand for years, will be arriving in-game within a matter of months. This comes after a recent official announcement left some players still concerned about the game’s state around its fifth anniversary.
Tejo Nerfs Coming in VALORANT Patch 10.09, Replay System Arrives in September
The head of the VALORANT studio at Riot Games, Anna Donlon, confirmed today the arrival window of two highly anticipated changes: nerfs to the agent Tejo, and the long-awaited replay system. Nerfs to Tejo will arrive in the very next patch, 10.09, which should release in just a matter of weeks. The in-game replay system is coming September 2025.
After yesterday’s video celebrating the game’s fifth anniversary, Donlon posted a follow-up message addressing “concerns around the state of the game.” Donlon implies that the official release window for the replay system was going to announced in the “upcoming June anniversary Dev Update.”
Hey everyone! I’ve seen your comments and concerns around the state of the game coming off our latest video – and while we’re planning to dig deep on some stuff in our upcoming June anniversary Dev Update, I figured, why wait?!? So first, REPLAYS ARE COMING IN SEPTEMBER! Woot!
An in-game replay system that allows players to save and view match VODs has been requested for years. As the years went on and the game’s esports ecosystem continued to grow, fans and players became more perturbed that it was taking so long for Riot to implement this feature. Seeing other popular multiplayer titles implement replay system before VALORANT only made the fans angrier.
The overbearing abilities of Tejo are a much more recent concern, but like the replay system it especially bothers the higher level players. His precise salvo rockets are one of the most overpowered, impossible-to-counter abilities in the game. Donlon said the agents team will be “taking some of the fuel out of his rockets” with changes announced tomorrow. Tejo’s absurd ability strength ties into a bigger discussion about overpowered abilities in general, with Donlon noting some “bigger changes” planned for later in the year.
