Resident Evil 9 was unveiled at Summer Games Fest with the first reveal of its title, Resident Evil Requiem, and a release date next year.
After an earlier tease suggested we wouldn’t be hearing news about Resident Evil 9, Capcom ended with the highlight of the night by showcasing the reveal trailer and a release date of February 27, 2026.
The footage shows the FBI investigating mysterious deaths, which are being investigated by Grace, a technical analyst, being tasked to take a look at the scene of another death—which occured in a location she has a history with, the Remnant Hotel.
Watch the full trailer below, which gave fans the first look at the next entry in the iconic franchise.
The trailer reveals that the hotel was the location where Grace’s mother was murdered, with things then shifting up a gear with haunting memories, chilling environments, and the first look at what appears to be the main villain.
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in February next year, and, given that Resident Evil 8 came to Nintendo Switch, it’s likely that an eventual release on the Switch 2 will take place.
