Capcom made a huge announcement at Summer Game Fest today, revealing the highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica and its release window.
Resident Evil Code Veronica has been rumored to be in development for quite some time. It is said to be one of two new remakes in the series, alongside Resident Evil Zero. Various details, including release windows and development teams, have been leaked, but players remained uncertain until today, when Capcom finally decided to reveal the information.
Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake Release Set for 2027
The Summer Game Fest panel for Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake provided players with quite a bit of new information. Players got to see enhanced visuals across the board, with higher fidelity and performance across both cutscenes and what seemed like gameplay elements. Towards the end of the trailer, players were also given a release window: the upcoming remake is set to arrive in 2027. Check out the reveal trailer below:
In the story of Resident Evil Code Veronica, players follow Claire Redfield as she continues her search for her brother, Chris Redfield. Her quest leads her to Paris, where she is captured and trafficked to Rockfort Prison. However, the prison comes under sudden attack, allowing Claire to escape, only to discover that the T-virus has broken out and zombies have overrun the facility. With the undead on the loose, she must scavenge for weapons and ammunition to survive. Claire’s journey also takes her to an Antarctic base, where she seeks clues to expose the Umbrella Corporation’s dark motives and uncover the truth behind the mysterious and unsettling Ashford twins.
