According to multiple reports, it seems Rockstar is gearing up to release Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Nintendo Switch 2 this year, along with a next-gen upgrade patch for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Switch 2 Release Coming Alongside Next-Gen Upgrade
As spotted by videotechuk_ on X (formerly Twitter), Gamereactor and Nintendúo have both claimed that Rockstar is working on releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. Moreover, the reports state that the Switch 2 port could be released alongside a “next-gen upgrade patch” for Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
During Take-Two’s latest investor call, the company also stated that they plan to release several games on the Switch 2, and if the reports are accurate, RDR 2 could be one of them. Players must be equally excited to hear about the “next-gen upgrade patch” for the current-gen consoles, as the game is still locked on 4K 30fps for the PS5.
Regardless, this information should be taken with a grain of salt as it does not come from an official source. We will have to wait for an official announcement from Nintendo or Rockstar to know for sure.
