Step aside, Grand Theft Auto 6, as a GTA 4 Remaster could be on the cards, and might even drop this year. The words come directly from one of the biggest GTA leakers in the game, and they say the port has been in the works for a while.
Grand Theft Auto 4 was a bold move for GTA. It moved away from the more chaotic elements of the series by continuing the absence of Rampages and focusing more on story over side content. The decision was unanimously accepted as the story of Niko Bellic is an all-timer. GTA 4 still holds a special place in the hearts of many, and 2025 could bring about nostalgia if reports are to be trusted.
GTA 4 Remaster Could Release in 2025, Says Reputable Leaker

Tez2 is the go-to for almost all Rockstar-related gaming news and leaks. From getting the insight into weekly GTA Online updates to full-blown rumors about GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and more, Tez2 is the one.
They were spotted posting in the GTA Forums in a discussion about GTA 6 Trailer 2. The conversation progressed, and it led to the leaker being asked about an often-rumored GTA 4 remaster/port.
They said: “Someone at R* hinted at the IV port, and by now it should’ve gone up a year in development. We may end up seeing it drop later this year.
Tez2 believes the remaster is why the much-used “LCPP mod was taken down.” Even though the word “port” is used, this is a game that was first released 17 years ago. A release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S makes it a remaster by default, as the graphics would need to be updated and refined to accommodate two generations worth of technological advancement.
There’s also good news if you’re a Max Payne 3 fan, as Tez2 says: “They’ll do an MP3 [Max Payne 3] port after [GTA] IV.“
It’s up to you if you choose to believe the news. Again, Tez2 has a big reputation in the GTA community. We’ll file this under the “pinch of salt” drawer for now. Do you think it’ll happen? Would you buy a GTA 4 port/remaster to keep you ticking over until GTA 6? Let us know through the Insider Gaming official forum.
