Prince of Persia ‘Fan’ Offers Ubisoft €5 Million To Resume Sands of Time Remake

Many were down bad when Ubisoft announced that, after years of tumultuous development, it had canceled the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. Now, one fan is prepared to go to extreme lengths to see the project revived and seen through to fruition.

We brought the sad news that on January 21, 2026, Ubisoft ceased production on the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The project was restarted and passed around various studios like a tube of Pringles at a party, and eventually, Ubisoft decided to pull the plug.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake Development to Resume?

The fan in question is remaining anonymous, which raises some serious question marks about the legitimacy of this claim and proposal, but they seem upfront about their intentions.

But X user @NachoRB10 posted a long message on X asking Ubisoft to consider their offer. The fan is interested in ‘providing financing to help the project be resumed and completed, if Ubisoft considers it viable to bring back.’

They continued:

‘My motivation is not to obtain financial profits, a share of the sales, or any rights over the intellectual property. My only goal would be to help make this video game reach the players and allow the community to enjoy the work that has been done.

I have an initial budget of more than €5,000,000 that I would be willing to allocate to study this possibility, subject to a formal agreement, to the project’s viability, and to the conditions that Ubisoft considers appropriate.’

So, it could be MORE than 5 million then. Someone really wants the remake to happen. It’s such a shame as well, especially after the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake gameplay presentation that leaked online gave us such hope.

Ubisoft is apparently yet to respond to or acknowledge the offer.
