Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies across all available platforms within the first 72 hours of its release, marking a monumental achievement for developer S-Game.
Available on PC and PlayStation 5, the action-RPG represents the studio’s first major release outside of mobile gaming, and it’s already proving to be another huge success story for Chinese game development. The game is attracting plenty of attention from both fans and critics alike, with its launch sales figures highlighting just how popular it’s become.

Phantom Blade Zero Spells Success For S-Game
The impressive sales figures for Phantom Blade Zero were shared directly by the development team, with the studio taking to social media to celebrate the milestone just three days after launch.
With over 4 million copies sold, it’s hardly surprising to see the game’s player counts continue to climb on Steam. Phantom Blade Zero is edging closer to the one million concurrent players mark, having reached a peak of 830,000 players at the time of writing. That’s an impressive figure in its own right, especially when you consider that it doesn’t include the PlayStation 5 player base.
The game’s success has also sparked comparisons to Black Myth: Wukong, another major Chinese-developed release that sold 10 million copies within the same timeframe. Wukong arguably helped establish one of the biggest success stories for Chinese single-player games in the Western market, and Phantom Blade Zero appears to be following a similar trajectory.
Given that S-Game has made a conscious effort to appeal to a Western audience, these early sales figures suggest that the studio’s ambitions have paid off in a big way.
It’s also worth noting that Phantom Blade Zero comes in at a lower price point than many traditional AAA releases, while offering a substantial amount of content and playtime. With that in mind, its early commercial success shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
