People Can Fly Lays Off Another 50 Employees After Project Suspensions

Just days after announcing the suspension of two major projects, it has been revealed that People Can Fly is laying off another 50 employees as part of the decision.

First seen by industry analyst MauroNL on social media, “over 50 people were subject to a redundancy” due to Project Bifrost’s suspension. Project Gemini’s suspension saw 60 people let go.

According to the studio, other employees at the company were “offered transfers to work on other projects”. It’s unclear, however, the exact number of people who were offered to move.

At the time of the original news, the studio said that Gemini’s suspension was due to a lack of communication from the publisher. Regarding Bifrost, they said it’s suspension came after “the analysis of the Group’s cash flow, which showed a lack of prospects for securing organisational resources and funds necessary to continue the production and release of this project.”

Late last year, People Can Fly held layoffs that saw at least 120 people let go. As far as the future for the company, they are still co-developing Gears of War: E-Day with The Coalition. They are also working on a prototype for a new Sony IP.

In 2025, the games industry has seen over 2,400 known jobs lost due to layoffs. When accounting for unconfirmed numbers, the real total is likely over 2,700 jobs.
