A massive heist has occurred, resulting in the theft of thousands of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. The value of the heist exceeds $1 million.
Switch 2 consoles are all the hype right now, with the console becoming Nintendo’s fastest-selling hardware in history. Within the first few days, it sold more than 3.5 million units. Demand for the console is high, too, and Nintendo has been doing everything it can to meet it, but events like these may cause a serious problem.
Switch 2 Robbers Gets Their Hands on Close to 3,000 Units
According to a report by 9News (via MyNintendoNews), the Switch 2 heist occurred at Love’s Truck Stop at 1191 S. 1st St. in Bennett. The deputies confirmed that 2,810 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles were stolen from the back of the truck. The driver informed the authorities that he was on his way to a GameStop store in Grapevine, Texas, from Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington and wasn’t aware of the trailer’s contents.
A Nintendo Switch 2 console is worth $499, which brings the heist’s value to over $1 million. The authorities are still figuring out where exactly the heist occurred and how the thieves were able to steal so many units. Investigations are on, and there is also a tipline (720-874-8477) that you can call to provide any essential information regarding this case.
