First announced back in 2021, the remake of the classic Star Wars title has gone through development hell over the last handful of years. It was originally to be developed by Aspyr. However, in 2022, the game was delayed indefinitely after the studio fired the game’s art director and design director.
By August 2022, Aspyr was no longer work on the game, and it was given to Saber Interactive. That said, it’s been so quiet on that front, it’s hard to say what exactly is happening with the game. The last update came from Saber’s CCO who seemed to suggest that the game’s still coming.

This game is scrapped I wish they’d just say it. Saber should work on other things. Well they probably making a Transformers game.
Honestly… if this is the actual state of the game then they didn’t do any progress. It seems to me they just plugged together a bunch of default unreal engine blueprints.
The game isn’t scrapped…. The lead Dev of the current studio developing the Kotor remake said it is alive and well. That it was setback due to multiple studio changes and game engine upgrades. But rest assured that the Kotor remake is coming (maybe not until 2027 or 2028) but it IS confirmed in development.
If it’s going to be remade for “modern audiences” then no thanks.
