One of the more exciting games revealed at today’s State of Play event was Nioh 3, which will be released in early 2026. PS5 players can access the Nioh 3 Demo right now till June 18.
Team Ninja’s Fumihiko Yasuda provided more details for the latest instalment of their samurai action-RPG series, Nioh 3. Yasuda explained that a new ‘Ninja’ combat style has been added along with the ‘Samurai’ style to bring more diverse combat experiences. Also, stages have been expanded into open fields, providing more freedom to the players and a more immersive experience during exploration.
About Nioh 3
In Nioh 3, players will play a young warrior destined to become the next shogun. You will use the samurai style similar to previous Nioh titles. However, new arts proficiency has been added, increasing the impact of martial arts and the deflect move. The deflect move will allow players to block attacks at the last moment to create intense face-to-face confrontations.
Then comes the Ninja play style, which adds new dodging and aerial actions. Players will be able to utilise a variety of ‘Ninjitsu’ techniques. Mist allows you to leave a clone after an attack; Evade enables players to narrowly escape enemies. Both playstyles are instantly interchangeable, and players must be strategic with their combat style according to the enemy they face.
There’s a new open field instead of stages, adding more freedom to explorations, new confrontations and more. Players might experience unexpected encounters with yokai, explore suspicious villages with violent secrets and face the challenges of The Crucible.
