Originally released in 1997 for the PlayStation, Final Fantasy Tactics became one of the most iconic SRPGs of all time, influencing countless franchises over the years. Now, with a enhanced version for current gen consoles, Square Enix promises to deliver the beloved classic to new players.
Revamped Visuals and Iconic Characters Return
The latest trailer showcased legendary characters such as Ramza Beoulve, Delita Heiral, and Algus Sadalfas, all reimagined with enhanced visuals. Additionally, environments have been completely redesigned to match contemporary standards while staying true to the game’s original tone.
The description says:
FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles includes two different versions of the game: enhanced and classic. The enhanced version adds fully voiced dialogue, an optimized and updated UI, graphical improvements, and a number of other quality of life features. The classic version unites the graphics and gameplay of the original game with the renowned War of the Lions translation and includes convenient features such as auto save.
At the end of the trailer, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles will launch on September 30th, 2025.
