New Escape from Tarkov Promo Code Has Fans Creating Icebreaker Theories

Battlestate Games has released a new promo code in Escape from Tarkov that rewards players with a fuel canister. It’s not the most impressive reward, but it has an underlying message that the conspiracy theorists in the community have linked to the upcoming Icebreaker map update.

Icebreaker is a new map touted to arrive in Escape from Tarkov soon, and it’s reportedly going to be made available exclusively via a transition, just like The Labyrinth or Terminal. This new promo code seems to be a pointer to that very concept.

Tarkov Reward Code Might Point to Icebreaker

If you open your Escape from Tarkov launcher or head to the website, you’ll be able to redeem the latest promo code, released earlier today by Battlestate Games:

  • KANISTRA

This promo code will reward you with a fuel canister and nothing else, but while it seems like an unimportant gift, fans have theorized that the underlying message is much more meaningful.

Fans have noticed that the latest ‘cryptic video’ posted by Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games, seems to show characters zipping off to an unknown destination in a boat. This is the long-rumoured transition method for gaining access to Icebreaker, the first ‘out of map’ raid area that will take players to a snowy, frozen waste of sorts.

This video, paired with the new promo code, has fans theorizing that to get to Icebreaker via that transition, you’ll need a canister of fuel to power your boat. It kind of makes sense, as there is often a hidden message in Escape from Tarkov’s promo codes.

Of course, there are plenty of not-so-veiled promo codes. Recently, the team gave away a pile of ‘Blicky’ toy guns and ammunition, but that was paired with an insane April Fool’s event.

Do you think there’s a hidden message behind the recent Escape from Tarkov promo code, or are we all reading too much into it? Let us know what you’re thinking on the Insider Gaming Discord server.
