Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 Pro Enhanced update arrives tomorrow on April 8, 2026, and here’s what’s new.
CD Projekt Red has been absolutely smashing it with the Cyberpunk 2077 franchise, with the newly announced Trading Card Game already setting records at Kickstarter. The work on the game is also continuing as we wait for the sequel, and now the upgrade we thought would never arrive has finally been released tomorrow.
Cyberpunk 2077 Gets 3 Distinct Modes on PS5 Pro
The latest blog post provides us with details on the PS5 Pro Enhanced update for Cyberpunk 2077. Firstly, PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution has been used on each pixel to upscale every inch of Night City. Coming to Ray Tracing, the developers have “implemented BVH8 (8-way Bounding Volume Hierarchy) support to implement ray-traced lighting, shadows, and reflections, bringing the lighting even closer to our artistic vision for this world.”
Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 Pro gets three distinct modes. First is Ray Tracing Pro, which offers all available ray-tracing enhancements and the most visually advanced version of Cyberpunk 2077 on the console. It will include traced reflections, ambient occlusion, skylight, shadows, and emissive lighting, and provide 40 FPS on variable refresh rate-enabled displays and 30 FPS for others.
Then we have Performance mode for players looking for the most fluid experience. VRR Displays will support up to 90 FPS with high image fidelity for Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 Pro. The last mode is Ray Tracing, which sits between the two modes, focusing on visuals and performance. IT will enable select ray tracing enhancements and provide a frame rate of 60FPS.
In other news, CD Projekt Red has stated that they have “no plans” to make new DLCs or expansions for Cyberpunk 2077. What are your thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 Pro upgrades? Leave your thoughts down in the comments, and join the official Insider Gaming Discord server.
