Frostpunk 2’s developers have revealed the release date of the Breach of Trust DLC, shared other details, and teased the next DLC on the roadmap.
11 Bit Studios’ latest event from Frostpunk 2, Faction Wars, comes to an end in the next 2 days, and right before it ends, they have announced the next DLC. The announcements come from Frostpunk Franchise fest, where we were told about the DLC, along with an update on Frostpunk 1886, a new graphic novel, and more.
Frostpunk 2 Breach of Trust DLC Releases on June 23
The announcement confirms that Frostpunk 2’s Breach of Trust DLC is set to arrive on June 23. Ahead of that, interested players can sign up for playtests scheduled for May. The new story arc will take players to the city of New Edinburgh, which is “built near a volcano destabilized by the reckless use of geothermal energy to power its Generator.” You will also visit its former colony, Aurora. Check out all the new features of the DLC below:
- New narrative set in New Edinburgh and its former colony, Aurora.
- Five unique communities and factions will be introduced, each with distinct backgrounds, identities, and ideologies.
- New lethal environmental hazards, which include Tremors and Volcano Night mechanics.
- New narrative events and custom gameplay mechanics introduce fresh challenges.
- An Independent Colony system that allows players to choose between trade, extortion, or conquest
- Two new scenario maps
- Five new buildings and hubs to strengthen the player’s city’s infrastructure
- New laws for players to shape their society
At Frostpunk Franchise fest, the developers also revealed the codename for Frostpunk 2’s next DLC, Surge. What’s more, it is scheduled to arrive in 2026.
